We enjoyed our stay, but for the price point I definitely feel it was lacking in certain areas.

Pros: Our cabin was sweet, comfortable,warm and relaxing. The grounds were very pretty when it snowed, the farmhouse was cozy, the restaurant was also nice. Aesthetically everything was very pleasing. Staff was kind and punctual with being picked up and dropped off from our cabin.

Cons: I will reiterate from other reviewers that if you’re there on a busy weekend, we didn’t hear the people next to us but we heard their dogs very clearly- soundproofing is something I feel should be budgeted in for the price point of the stay. Bath house was nice, I feel it could have been a bit bigger, the outdoor pool definitely should be kept running in the winter and the steam room smells like mildew. The restaurant was expensive and most of the things we had were pretty tasty but I feel they focused a little too much on aesthetic and not flavor. The lunch salad was lettuce, micro-planed parm, light dressing and watermelon radishes for $20, I added chicken which came with 0 seasoning, seems like it was sous vide and marked on the grill, that bumped the cost up to $30. $30 for a very boring salad. The avocado toast was gorgeous, but again- no salt or anything to give it flavor just avocado on dry toast and flavorless garnishes.

Pros: Great location and views. You have to walk back to the dining room and facilities or call the land rovers.

Cons: Maybe $200 too expensive. Poor water pressure, some neighbors noise

Pros: Comfortable rooms with a lot of privacy. Cozy beds, incredible robes and towels. The Aesop products in the room smell amazing. Rooms stocked with tea, coffee press and snacks.

Cons: As a return visitor, I enjoyed the staff at the front desk and the waiters in the restaurant are kind and accommodating to needs. We wished that room service was an option. Also not enough water available in the room. The check in is too late (4 pm) and while we got into our room at 3 pm it would be nice is this was the standard. Felt a bit rushed with the 11 am checkout (with one particular woman at the front desk) considering the breakfast at the restaurant serves til 11 am and was quite busy. 12 pm would be an ideal time for checkout given the layout of the property. Room was a bit hot even set to 66 degrees.

Idyllic upstate homestead with excellent dining and hospitality tucked into a sprawling landscape of willows and fields

Pros: One of the most picturesque places I’ve stayed in ny! I saw over 30 species during my stay. the style is gorgeous, the food is delicious and the beds are so comfortable :)

Cons: The distance between the parking/dining and lodging has a bit of a hill and is difficult for people with limited mobility, but there was a very nice option to be shuttled by jeep. I would love to see some more benches on the walk way and the trail system for guests to take rests. :)

Pros: remote location, landscape, good design, great and friendly staff, the jeep rides

Cons: one thing to improve would be to serve a lightweight breakfast in the farmhouse, ideally from local produce
