Pros: I slept in the Overlook Lodge. The room was clean and the view on the lake was amazing. Even if outside was pretty cold, the room was warm and very clean. I had no problem parking neither at the Inn and at the Lodge. Even with the snow and the ice, with the car was easy to reach both location. Other than the room, I tired the services of both the Hikers' Cafe and the second floor bar. They were both very good in terms of price-quality ratio, with plenty of possible choices. The location, generally speaking, is amazing. The staff was helpful and easy going.

Cons: Nothing, it was perfect.

Pros: The cottage was so cute! It was clean and welcoming. The check-in staff was very friendly. The area is so beautiful and we can't wait to return.

Pros: The area is beautiful and just far enough away from NYC but still close enough to visit. The Inn is gorgeous. I love all the history in the area. It's been updated and clean. We ate at the Hikers Cafe, and the food was good. Staff was all friendly and helpful. The stone cabins are really cute. Loved the fireplace in the sitting area. The walls are paper thin, though.

Cons: The signage for check-in was lacking and a bit confusing. The sign for the Inn is right over the door for the gift shop and cafe. There should be a sign for check-in over the door between the sets of stairs. It's fall, and I get leaves are an issue, but the underbrush behind the cabins could be cleaned up for a better view.

Loved it! Will be back

Pros: Just very cozy and clean. Great service from the lodge to the main building . Drivers were so nice! All staff as well. Just a nice peaceful getaway

Cons: Board games in the lobby are all broken or used up. Missing pieces. I think a new collection would be nice and maybe more sign about fire pit outside and provide marshmallows and chocolate etc for amores etc to buy.

Pros: Location is beautiful, nice and quiet. Natural surroundings. Close to shopping and West point.

Cons: Quiet broken by other guest with dog. Dog whined and barked for over an hour and half. Called desk and they said the guest was not in room. The dog was left in attended which is supposedly against pet policy.

The trip was amazing โ€” the place, the view, and the overall feeling were absolutely perfect.

Pros: I loved the peaceful atmosphere and stunning lake views โ€” perfect for a relaxing escape in nature. The trails and scenery around Bear Mountain are absolutely beautiful!

Cons: The entrance to the lodge area is a bit tricky after the roundabout, and the check-in is not in the same building โ€” you have to go to the main location about 5 minutes away. It can be a little confusing for first-time visitors.

Beautiful mountain forest environment, unbeatable price, modern hotel-room accommodations.

Pros: A cabin in the woods just up the hill from a glorious glacial lake! Excellent value and convenience for a great and natural location. The rooms in the cabins are simple but modern hotel rooms, with a fridge and other modern conveniences. This is a hotel, not camping. Nothing luxurious, but very comfortable. We liked the fireplace lounge between the rooms, although we weren't sure whether there was a way to make a fire in the fireplace. The main lodge where you check in is especially beautiful and impressive.

Cons: The address provided to us was unclear. You actually have to go to the main building of the Bear Mountain Inn to check in. We didn't know that, so we wasted time driving to the cabin area and then back to the Inn and then the cabin again. We also wish you could see the lake from the cabin โ€” even from the porch, you can't really see the lake through the trees. But this is a minor point, as the lake is a short walk away down the hill.

Bear Mountain Cottage

Pros: The cottage room was cozy and comfortable. The scenery was beautiful by the cottage. Very peaceful and relaxing.

Cons: The AC unit controller was in the common living room and not in each individual room.
