Best Western Plus Wilkes Barre Center City

Pros: Perfectly located in the centre of Wilkes Barre, with plenty of free parking. Spacious room and everything was clean. Good breakfast.

Pros: Location was great. Two minute walk to Kirby Center. Lots of eateries and cocktails within walking distance.

Pros: Large, clean rooms. One block from bus transit center. Walking distance to department store, Starbucks, cafes and Wilkes University . Very friendly and helpful staff

Pros: Location was great, super clean and amazing staff!

Cons: On Sunday breakfast they allowed a local homeless person (he does a lot of cleaning up of garbage in the area which is great… however….) Into the breakfast area, who proceeded to take off his shirt and change standing next to the buffet. He was loud, yelling and very unclean touching all the utensils for the breakfast buffet. Overall incredibly off putting.

Pros: The staff was great, good location and parking was convenient.

Cons: The carpet needs to be cleaned or have them replaced.

I would not hesitate to stay here again if I were coming to an event at the Kirby Center.

Pros: We totally enjoyed our breakfast. Lisa was so very helpful and kind to us; she went out of her way to accommodate our needs. There was a wonderful selection of warm foods as well as the waffle maker :) !! The coffee was great! When we arrived, I was in a state of panic as I forgot my print out receipt. Simone, at the desk, was able to look at my phone receipt together with my ID and quickly found the reservation. She quickly put me at total ease and was equally helpful upon our check out. This facility was so close to the Kirby center that I did not even consider using the parking pass we had purchased for the parking garage. When we left this facility we had been entertained and felt relaxed, clean, fed, warm and rested.

Cons: I was initially concerned with the inner city location; the police headquarters are across the road and police patrol obvious enough that we felt very safe walking the short distance to our venue. (We felt still safer with officers also present at the Kirby Center and security checks as you came through the entrance.) The Best Western facility is located in the center of the city with limited space; they have done a great job in utilizing and maintaining the space and facility they have. If you're looking for a 5 star-over the top get away, select a resort or other hotel. This facility serves wonderfully for exactly what it claims to be...a clean, friendly, conveniently located facility to stay if you have a need to be near the F. M. Kirby Center or Public Square area in Wilkes-Barre. They are accommodating, have parking included with your room, an on-site dining restaurant if you wish to reserve for dinner, and a complimentary breakfast in the morning. Showers had great water pressure and no lack of hot water; that, with clean, comfortable rooms served our purpose well.

Pros: Friendly, helpful staff at check in. Hotel is showing its age but it's a good value for the location.

Pros: Gentleman at front desk was top notch. Dinner was great. Staff is excellent. Breakfast was perfect. The gentleman supervising the area was very friendly and helpful. We were there for a concert at the Kirby Center which was a 2 minute walk.
