Hotel and the City

Pros: Easy to communicate with staff. Laundry room. Great outdoor space and view of ESB which is why we booked. Beds were comfortable. Warm, clean and safe. 24 hour reception. Small fridge, hob, crockery and kitchen utensils. Provided a kettle on request. Shower was hot and had good pressure.

Cons: No room to move really, no storage for clothes so had to live out of suitcases.

Great stay

Pros: Have a roof top terrace with fabulous views of Empire State Building. Good location, short walk from Penn station and short walk to Times Square

Cons: Alittle cold but was given 2 heaters very quickly

Pros: The location was excellent and we had pretty much all we needed for a comfortable stay. The roof terrace was great - as long as you put the heater on in advance in the igloo it's a cosy spot to relax and look up at The Empire State Building. The apartment was a perfect size for me and my daughter and we had a double bed each. I would recommend this place to a couple or a family with two children.

Cons: The pipes are extremely noisy! Nothing that can be done about it but it frightened the life out of us when we first heard it as it sounds like someone is breaking in! The only other small point is there was no tin opener or wine glasses.

Short stay in NYC, Room was central with a great rooftop sitting space

Pros: Great Location, handy for everywhere. Subway close by. Directions given were easy to follow. Apartment is as described. Access to the rooftop a pleasant surprise. H-Mart close by for basics

Cons: The room is small, not unexpected, means you have to manage luggage inside the space

Great location with pario.

Pros: Great location. Rooftop patio gantastic when thw weather held.

Cons: Space was tight. Very little room for luggage. Bathroom had musty smell.

Great location, clean, compact space, ideal for a short stay.

Pros: The location was perfect, the host and communication were very good. It was compact, but we knew this before booking. There was no kettle, but one message to the host and this was provided within ten minutes - they provide only on request. Fresh towels were also provided when requested. There were 6 cups, plates, etc, a fridge, and a microwave. The shower and bathroom were clean & relatively modern The rooftop terrace was a nice open air space for coffee in the morning, and ideal to get some space while others showered and got ready, as it's quite a tight space. Ample outdoor seating for all members of our party. The free luggage holding service was ideal for the day off departure as well, as our flight home wasn't until after 9pm.

Cons: The WiFi was poor. The host did try several times to fix it, but it was difficult to get into, and slow at the times we did manage to get on. There was no safe available in the room - this band we had to take our cash and passports out with us. Although we were confident they would've been safe, we didn't want to take a chance.

Pros: We stayed here as a family of four that included 2 large teenage boys. The room was spacious enough for all of us made even more so with the added bonus of the large patio area. The room itself was spotless, and the communication from the staff was informative, friendly, and prompt to answer any questions we had. The location is perfect to get out and about whether you're walking or using the subway with lots of great food places and shops right on the doorstep. We loved our stay and would definitely book again!

Pros: Quite and safe location, excellent wifi, balcony is amazing in the 12th floor rooms.

Loved it - just what we needed - a bed, shower and excellent location to explore NY.

Pros: The receptionist at Hotel & the City, and I can't remember his name, was exceptional - very professional, curteous, helpful and efficient. he helped hold our bags before check in and let us leave them after check out and before our flight. Even the receptionist and night security at the front entrance were helpful. This was a great room / large balcony space for our family of 5 (5 adults) who were exploring NYC for 3 days/2 nights. You are all sleeping in one room, but we managed fine with two doubles and a bunk bed and 3 cases. Everything worked, everything was clean, and the location was superb. Being able to look up at the Empire State Building from the outside balcony was great too. Excellent location on 31st between 5th and 6th Avenue. Good value for 5 adults.

Cons: It was noisy in the morning - from about 9am, but that was work on buildings outside the control of the host - and that's progress - New York was being repaired and built around us.
