Pros: The place it is, near everything, steps close to Central Park, everywhere

Excellent Location with a Lovely Community Feel

Pros: Superb location and excellent staff. I had a great time using the sauna and steam room after long days out exploring NYC in the snow. There is a great community feel here as the YMCA is used by locals as a gym and for other services. I really enjoyed the conversations and interactions I had with local members in the sauna and steam room that I probably wouldn't have gotten if I stayed elsewhere. The rooms are basic, however they are cleaned everyday and the beds are comfortable. Overall I think it is great value especially considering the location less than 5-minutes walk from the well-connected Columbus circle metro station and central park.

Cons: I found it a bit odd that the toilets and showers were being cleaned at 7:30-8am in the morning. As someone who works in a hotel myself it makes no sense to me scheduling wise as this is the time period where guests are most likely to use washroom facilities.

Excellent location, fantastic staff and brilliant location

Pros: It was local to Central Park and next to a Subway Staff were very friendly and also were on top of the cleaning everyday Excellent value for money My room had everything I needed in it

Pros: Great value for money, location and use of gym, pool, sauna.

Cons: The rooms were warm and stuffy with no way of altering their “AC” or opening a window. The bunk beds were also very basic

Comfy and safe

Pros: The staff was always, always extremely kind and helpful. From the front desk, security guards, night guards, fantastic. The location is unbeatable. I got a good price for it and it was a good room.

Cons: no hot water during my stay at all, overall the facilities look a little bit scary when I got there but because everyone was so friendly I loved it

Pros: Excellent location, welcoming staff. For those who complain about cleaning service: they do it minimum twice a day, I saw it personally and checked after each cleaning, they are doing great job. It’s dirty just because people are s**ts and seems in 2025 not everyone is aware of flushing toilets and hygiene. So before blaming someone, think if it’s you’re not the only problem

Pros: The location is brilliant. Easy for subway, Central Park and Lincoln Centre. Easy to walk downtown also. The single de luxe was perfect and the room has a fridge which was great to keep yoghurt so I could make up my own breakfast every day. Unfortunately I didn't use the gym and pool but it's great to have these facilities. I walked a lot which was very easy. I was able to refill my water bottle also from the water fountain on the ground floor. The bathrooms do need an upgrade to make it even more pleasant.

Pros: The building itself, from the outside. Inside the corridors resembled a prison.

Cons: Basic.

Pros: Location (very close to Central Park and Columbus circle), bath/shower facility, gym access, easy check in and check out, 24/7 security guard

Cons: the metal bunk beds are creaking and the lower deck has such a tight headroom. toilet cubicles and shower stalls are tight for normal sized adults.

If you looking for somewhere to lay your head after a day of exploring and working on a budget this is ideal

Pros: Great location, walking distance to all major attractions and opposite side of road to Central Park
