Great stay in a hotel with real character in the very heart of NYC
Pros: Location close to Times Square and history and authenticity, and the Dorothy Parker quotes on room doors
Cons: Bar and lounge areas actually small and limited, and no restaurant although meals were available

Pros: For us, the location was perfect -- safe, near many good restaurants and other places we wanted to visit. We love the history of the Algonquin, and even though the hotel has been renovated, they have tried to maintain its importance in New York's literary history.
Cons: Of course, being in NYC, the room was smaller than I would have liked.

I will probably come back but would hope for a better room.
Pros: The breakfast was fine. The food good. Service excellent. The bar was also very good and welcoming.
Cons: I was very disappointed with the room. It was very small, for the price paid.

Best value for money stay in Manhattan hands down
Pros: The location was excellent quiet yet very close to Grand central, Bryant Park and Times Square. Edward on the front desk was amazing and was able to arrange 3 separate rooms for our family all on the same floor. It was very quiet for such a central location.
Cons: The rooms were dark.

Historic hotel in NYC
Pros: The location was perfect for our sightseeing plans. It was easy to get a cab at the hotel. There was a $45 food/beverage credit every day. The food was very good at the restaurant.
Cons: The first room we were given was very small with a bathroom you couldn’t turn around in. We asked to be moved and were accommodated. This room might be ok for a single traveler but not a couple. There is no room service at this hotel.

Elegance and comfort in an historic mid-town hotel!
Pros: Wonderful, renovated rooms in an historic midtown hotel! Fabulous bar food and service (great truffle fries and martinis). Breakfast was amazing - best French toast imaginable. Managed to feel both upscale and down home friendly at the same time.
Cons: Nothing.
